Everyone asks me about my lashes. I love eyelash extensions and have tried different lengths and types of volume.
Recently, I was lucky enough to speak with Paula Hilliard, Eyelash lover and Franchise Owner at Lower Lonsdale Noir Lash Lounge.
Paula shared with me everything you need to know about getting the perfect set of lashes for your eye shape and how to care for them.
Anyone that has eyelashes to attached to can have extensions. We match the same thickness to your own eyelashes to ensure no damage is done due to weight or length.
What is the process of getting eye lash extensions done?
The process starts with a consult on the look the client wants and then input from the technician if their eyelashes can handle what they would like. Clients usually start with the basic which is a classic full set, which is one eyelash to one extension. If clients want more volume we move up from there.
What are the different types of lashes? or styles?
We have two types of lashes, silk lashes and faux mink! We also have 4 different types of curls to choose from and then lengths 7mm-16mm. All the different looks are from cat eye, which is longer on the outsides to Doll face which is staggered lengths to Kewtie pie which is longer in the middle to open up the eye and up to dramatic which is the Russian volume which is custom made big volume.
How to care for your lashes?
The more care you give your lashes the longer they will last however they are made so you can swim and live the life style you have always lived. Washing your eyelashes is very important which we now have an eye wash and brush, it cleans out all the bacteria that grows on our lashes and cleans all the old makeup build up!! This is just hygienically a good reason as well and longer wear for your lashes.
How long do your lashes last for?
Lashes should last anywhere between 2 ½ – 4 weeks depending on peoples lash cycles and the care of their lashes.
What are the steps with a refill?
The fill is for when you have about 50% of your lashes left from the full set, appointment is 30 – 45 min and the technicians will fill you back up to 100 %.
Anything else people should know?
Keep lashes dry for 24 hours after full set or fill, do not tug or pull lashes, no oil bases products, and coming in for a fill every 2 ½ – 4 weeks. We do also offer mini fills which are good for when you need a top up and have about 75% of your lashes left.
My beautiful lashes!
You can use mascara but make sure it is an oil-free mascara or you could ruin your lovely lashes.
